For those in the know, the hunt is finally over. After years of being nearly impossible to track down, the Overstayer M-A-S 2-Channel Harmonics Processor is back in stock at Vintage King.

Since 2019, this sought-after unit has been one of the mos

t elusive pieces of studio gear on the market. Now, we’ve secured a small batch, so if you’ve been chasing that unmistakable Overstayer sound, now is the time to grab one.

Overstayer History

Founded in Los Angeles, Overstayer Recording Equipment has built a cult following for designing unique, analog processors that combine classic vibe with modern flexibility. The brand’s boutique studio gear isn’t about sterile sound; it’s about adding color, character, and depth.

The M-A-S is perhaps the most celebrated of the bunch. Praised for its ability to add warmth, punch, and cohesiveness without flattening dynamics, it has earned a reputation as a modern classic.

About The Overstayer M-A-S

At its core, the Overstayer M-A-S is a two-channel analog harmonics processor that delivers the richness and gentle peak limiting of analog tape in a highly controllable rackmount format.

Unlike traditional compressors, the M-A-S doesn’t rely on attack and release times to control dynamics. Instead, it gently bends and rounds transient peaks, increasing perceived loudness without the pumping artifacts of compression.

But the real magic happens when the whole mix comes together. Run multiple tracks through separate M-A-S channels, and you'll start to hear that console-to-tape glue that made classic records feel so cohesive. It's the kind of analog character that's nearly impossible to achieve with plug-ins alone.

M-A-S Key Features

The Overstayer M-A-S features two independent channels in a single rack space, allowing for stereo processing or dual-mono operation. The highly reactive circuit adds low-order harmonics and smoothly bends transient peaks, bringing analog character and vibe to any source.

Integrated push-button High and Low EQ presets, a High Pass Filter, and Emphasis circuits make it easy to fine-tune your sound, adding presence and weight while removing unwanted rumble and harshness.

The dedicated Mix control is the key to the M-A-S’s magic, allowing you to seamlessly balance processed and unprocessed signal. This lets you dial in anything from a subtle sheen to full-blown analog saturation while preserving the original transients and dynamics. Rotary switch controls for both the Mix and Output levels make settings easy to match between channels and recall settings.

Last but not least, the M-A-S also features a dedicated front-panel Hi-Z input, so you can bring that same analog mojo directly to your bass, synths, and drum machines.

Final Thoughts

The Overstayer M-A-S is a versatile harmonics processor that’s perfect for adding more color, depth, and analog richness to your tracks and busses. Whether you’re looking to add console-style cohesion to your mix or simply spice things up with a little analog saturation, the M-A-S delivers results that are hard to replicate anywhere else.
