Top Ten New Releases From The 2024 NAMM Show

We had a great time checking out all of the new gear at the 2024 NAMM Show. From cutting-edge studio monitors to reissues of classic studio gear, there was a lot to take in. Barefoot Sound Footprint03 Studio Monitors

A couple of days before the 2024 NAMM Show, Barefoot Sound released their new Footprint03 studio monitors, and folks were excited to see and hear the new monitors for themselves. The next generation of Barefoot's legendary Footprint Series, Footprint03 monitors feature a tri-amplified 3-way configuration, a new ported speaker design, and the brand's new SPOC (Spectrally Optimized Conversion) technology. AMS Neve Genesys G3D Dolby Atmos upgrade for Genesys series consoles

AMS Neve Genesys G3D Dolby Atmos Upgrade For Genesys Consoles

AMS Neve had a lot to show off at this year's NAMM Show. In addition to the new G3D Dolby Atmos upgrade for the brand's popular Genesys Series consoles, Neve also debuted two new StarNet Series converters to further streamline your immersive mixing setup. Genesys Black G32 and Genesys G48 consoles will start shipping with the new G3D Dolby Atmos upgrade starting in February, with the option to retrofit existing consoles less than 5 years old coming in March.

Harrison Audio 500 Series Modules

Harrison Audio made news at last year's NAMM Show after announcing their merger with Solid State Logic and releasing the new 32Classic mixing console. This year, the storied brand is back with three new 500 Series modules, inspired by Harrison's iconic console circuits. The new 32CPre+ preamp, COMP compressor, and MR3eq equalizer offer the brand's signature sound in a compact, modular 500 Series package.

Fairchild Recording Equipment 660 Compressor

Last year, Fairchild Recording Equipment shocked the NAMM audience with their surprise reissue of the legendary Fairchild 670 compressor/limiter. This year, TELEFUNKEN’S Toni Fishman was back to show off the new Fairchild 660 compressor. A painstakingly accurate recreation, the new Fairchild 660 utilizes the same tubes, custom wound transformers, point-to-point soldering, and turret-style construction as the original. Cranborne Audio Carnaby HE 2 Harmonic EQ

Speaking of brands that made history at the 2023 NAMM Show and are back for more in 2024, Cranborne Audio had some cool gear to show off at their booth. Last year, Cranborne introduced the Carnaby 500, the world's first harmonic EQ. This year, they're back to show off the new Carnaby HE 2, a rack-mountable stereo version of Carnaby. Like its predecessor, the Carnaby HE2 utilizes harmonic saturation to boost and cut frequencies to make for a musical EQ with a unique blend of analog warmth and presence.

Heritage Audio has been on a roll lately releasing affordable recreations of classic studio gear. From the Herchild and TUBESESSOR compressors to the LANG PEQ-2 and MOTORCITY EQs, Heritage Audio has cracked the code on vintage-inspired outboard gear. Now, for the first time, the brand is branching out into audio interfaces.

A few days before the 2024 NAMM Show, Heritage Audio announced the new i73 PRO Series audio interfaces, the world’s first USB-C audio interfaces with built-in Class A 73-style preamps. Equipped with the same transformer-balanced circuitry as the brand’s best-selling 73-style preamps, the new i73 PRO EDGE, i73 PRO 2, and i73 PRO One audio interfaces recreate the classic mojo and vibe of analog recording, right from your desktop.

API Anniversary Gear

To commemorate the brand's 55th year in the audio industry, API released a new limited-edition 5500 Anniversary Edition EQ featuring an expanded frequency range, variable high pass filter, and mid/side functionality. Additionally, API showed off the new 550A Special Edition and 560 Special Edition EQs, featuring a vintage-style cream color. Finally, the brand also showed off the new TCS-II, an updated version of the popular channel strip featuring an updated compressor section, peak metering, and more.

Soyuz 11th Anniversary Wax Brass Bomblet

The Soyuz booth was buzzing with excitement at this year's NAMM Show, as the brand announced four new products coming later this year; the new 11th Anniversary Wax Brass Bomblet, 013 Ambisonic microphone, 011 FET transformerless SDC microphone, and Lakeside preamp. The 023 is a limited edition upgrade to the 023 Bomblet that's infused with a fragment of meteorite in its circuitry for some extra mojo. The new Lakeside preamp is set to be Soyuz's first piece of outboard gear and will feature the brand's custom transformers for a unique yet versatile sound.

Speaking of anniversaries AEA is celebrating 25 years with a new Limited Edition 44-CX 25LE microphone. Based on the legendary RCA 44 ribbon mic, AEA's new 44-CX features a vintage-inspired look, a custom transformer, and a three-position filter switch. Instantly toggle between no filter, high-pass filter, and a more aggressive high-pass filter setting to dial in the perfect sound for any session.
