In a town like Nashville, which looks to both the musical past and future at the same time, it's important to utilize a studio set-up that can offer the best of both worlds. A prime example of this philosophy is 10-time Grammy winner F. Reid Shippen, who uses a mixing concept best summarized by the man himself as "Digital when I need it, analog when I need it."
On December 11th, 2014, Shippen will be leading a workshop at Vintage King Nashville on the fine art of hybrid mixing. Detailing the techniques of blending analog and digital, the veteran mixer, engineer and producer will share ideas that he has used on a wide range of projects including Cage The Elephant, Minus The Bear, Dierks Bentley and Lady Antebellum.
Presented by Audio Alchemist, Vintage King, Manley Labs, Dangerous Music, IsoAcoustics and Glyph Technologies, the event will be an exciting chance to check out some of the latest analog/digital gear and see how they can be used together in a mixing session. Additionally, event-goers will have a chance to ask F. Reid questions about his workflow in an exclusive Q&A session.
