The Neve 1073SPX paired up with the Neve 1073OPX sitting on top of a Neve 8424 console.

Neve recently introduced the 1073SPX-D, and for the first time ever, the legendary preamp/EQ is available as a USB and ADAT audio interface. The 1U 19" rackmount unit features the classic signal path, including Maranair input and output transformers, alongside immaculate 192kHz and 24-bit AD/DA conversion.

In terms of I/O, the 1073SPX-D is a 9 x 12 audio interface with one analog input, eight ADAT digital inputs, four analog outputs, and eight ADAT digital outputs. There are two different ADAT expansion modes: USB/ADAT Hub Mode to connect additional ADAT preamps like the 1073OPX or a second 1073SPX-D, and Audio Expander Mode to integrate the channel strip with your existing ADAT-enabled interface.

To show off what the Neve 1073SPX-D can do, the Vintage King Nashville crew built a song track by track with some of our favorite local musicians. Each individual source was recorded with the 1073SPX-D, and for the drums, we used the 1073SPX-D in USB/ADAT Hub Mode with the 1073OPX for extra inputs.
