First Listen: Apogee Symphony Studio Series Audio Interfaces

For nearly four decades, Apogee has been at the forefront of digital audio, crafting powerful interfaces that have shaped the sound of countless GRAMMY-winning records. Since the debut of the original Symphony I/O in 2010, Apogee has been a studio staple, setting the standard with cutting-edge converters and pristine preamps.

Now, the brand is ushering in a new era with the Symphony Studio Series, a trio of audio interfaces that bring the legendary Symphony sound to a wider range of producers, engineers, and immersive audio specialists.

Available in three configurations—8x8, 2x12, and 8x16—the Symphony Studio Series delivers Apogee’s renowned conversion and pristine analog circuitry in a compact 1U rackmount design. Whether you're tracking a full band, mixing in Dolby Atmos, or mastering your next release, these interfaces provide the flexibility, power, and sonic excellence Apogee is known for.

At the core of each model lies Apogee’s Symphony Mk II-grade conversion, offering the lowest distortion and widest dynamic range in the brand’s history. In classic Apogee fashion, the preamps are clean and transparent with plenty of gain to support quiet dynamic and ribbon mics. Plus, the onboard DSP unlocks real-time processing with the included Symphony Studio Channel Strip, which features EQ, compression, and saturation effects.

For immersive workflows, the Symphony Studio Series supports Dolby Atmos up to 9.1.6, complete with Room EQ and Speaker Delay calibration tools to optimize any listening environment. The Control 2 software further enhances monitoring flexibility, allowing users to create up to 16 custom monitor profiles and seamlessly switch between setups.

Now, let’s take a closer look at what each of the three Symphony Studio interfaces has to offer.
