Trained under legends Leo Fender and Tak Hosono, Echopark Guitars owner Gabriel Currie has spent over 30 years building his reputation as a master guitar builder. It's a claim he can back up. With a client list that includes Josh Homme and Troy Van Leeuwen of Queens of the Stone Age, Jackson Brown and Joe Perry of Aerosmith, there is no doubt something magical about the six-string creations Currie is coming up with. In early 2017, the guitar maker decided to pull up Echopark's California roots and head to Detroit, Michigan for a change of pace. While Echopark continues to create the high-quality instruments they have become known for, Currie and his crew have also taken to repairing and modding gear for local players and their many clients. With the new Echopark Guitars HQ only a few miles from our own humble abode, we headed over to visit and check out a few guitars the team recently built for us. Watch our new video below to see demos of the Echopark Downtowner 2 Tone Burst, '59 Deluxe in TV Yellow and Downtowner in TV Yellow then continue below for a photo series from the inside of Echopark Guitars.
