Since the late 1970s, Danish speaker makers Dynaudio have been crafting innovative and transparent speaker designs for professional recording studios, cutting-edge home theater systems, and high-end automobiles. Known for their uncompromising accuracy, consistency, and detail, Dynaudio studio monitors are trusted by some of today's top engineers, producers, and musicians.

Between the Core Series, LYD Series, BM Classic Series monitors and subwoofers, you may be wondering which speakers to go with. Continue reading to learn everything you need to know about Dynaudio studio monitors, and how to choose the right pair for your studio.

History of Dynaudio

Dynaudio was founded in Denmark in 1977 by Wilfried Ehrenholz, an audiophile who simply wanted speakers that told the whole, exact truth. The company gradually worked its way to making every single component for their speakers in-house, all in the name of achieving the most honest, true-to-life listening experience possible. Naturally, this goal led to a number of patented innovations, including their custom-made drivers with aluminum wiring, Magnesium Silicate Polymer (MSP) cone material, signature soft-dome tweeters, and so on.

Committed to constant evolution, the company has continued to lead the industry in the digital age. All of its studio monitors come equipped with high-performance DSP for easy and intuitive room calibration, making them ideal for modern studios. Today, not only will you find Dynaudio speakers at notable studios like The Hit Factory and BBC Radio, but you’ll also hear the company’s sonic excellence behind the wheel of cars by Bugatti, Volkswagen, and Volvo.

With that, here are all of the extraordinary Dynaudio speakers currently available to buy at Vintage King.

Dynaudio Studio Monitors

Core Series

This flagship line of speakers is all about presenting your audio as is—no embellishments or frequency bumps; just pure, transparent sound. That’s also where Dynaudio’s advanced DSP comes into play, as it lets you effortlessly tailor your monitors to any setup and environment, from front-and-center on your desk to wall-mounted in the corners.

Dynaudio Core 7 Studio Monitors

Core 7

This speaker packs a lot of Dynaudio’s staples into its compact enclosure, including a proprietary midrange driver, Esotar Pro tweeters w/ Hexis system tech, and a 7-inch woofer built with Dynaudio’s own MSP (Magnesium Silicate Polymer) cone material. The result is a wide and even frequency response, pinpoint-accurate imaging, no unwanted artifacts/internal noise, and less ear fatigue during long sessions. Plus, you can select between Desk, Wall, or Corner Modes via the DSP filter switches to instantly minimize your room’s influence on your mixes.

Dynaudio Core 47 Studio Monitors

Core 47

The three-way, mid-size option in the Core Series is affectionately called “The Bulldog” by Dynaudio’s own engineers. That might be because of the astounding 500/500/150 Watts of Class D power on tap, courtesy of Pascal amplification, and the massive  37 Hz to 37 kHz frequency response. The beefed-up DSP system also features additional settings carefully crafted for different studio environments along with the usual customizable boundary filters.

Dynaudio Core 59 Studio Monitors

Core 59

This three-way speaker includes everything from the Core 47, but in a massive 22-inch enclosure. It’s a great option for engineers, editors, and mixers who need nothing less than the best possible listening experience.

LYD Series

This series offers the power and dexterity of a full-scale reference monitor system from compact and convenient nearfield speakers, sitting right at the intersection of truthful sound and ergonomic design. Any of these monitors would look right at home in a studio or a living room hi-fi system, and their true-to-life sound is perfect for professional and personal use.

Dynaudio LYD 5 Studio Monitors

LYD 5

The LYD 5 is a compact speaker that thrives in small rooms and bedroom studios. This small wonder uses the same lightweight aluminum voice coils and DSP tech found in Dynaudio’s full-sized models to deliver full detail and clarity even at lower volumes. Available in Black and White.

Dynaudio LYD 7 Studio Monitors

LYD 7

This speaker is slightly larger than the LYD 5 and sports a 7-inch woofer for extended bass response, but otherwise features the same impressive specs and components. Under the hood, the DSP includes specific tunings for free-standing speakers and ones placed within 50 cm of the wall, ensuring the best sonic results in whatever space you have available. Available in Black and White.

Dynaudio LYD 8 Studio Monitors

LYD 8

This speaker is the largest two-way monitor of the line with (you guessed it) an 8-inch woofer. It’s all of the previous LYD Series specs with extra power, precision, and versatility, helping your home studio easily compete with proper studios. Available in Black and White.

Dynaudio LYD 48 Studio Monitors

LYD 48

This three-way speaker comes with all three of Dynaudio’s signatures: a custom-designed soft-dome tweeter and midrange cone and woofer made with MSP material. As expected, they deliver a fully immersive sound at any volume in any space (all while using minimal space). Available in Black and White.

BM Classic Series

Music, film editing, radio broadcasting––this series can handle it all with flying colors. These speakers’ size and performance are not only ideal for smaller spaces, but also for surround sound and immersive audio systems.

Dynaudio BM15A Studio Monitors

BM15A

This speaker is somewhat larger than average two-way nearfield monitors, but it in turn sports more output, range, and response than the competition. The BM15A features an impactful 10-inch woofer, a Dynaudio-designed ESOTEC soft dome tweeter, and dual high-performance discrete MOSFET amplifiers, all of which work together to bring a bold, full-spectrum sound that stays true to its source.

Dynaudio BM6A Studio Monitors

BM6A

On the opposite end of the size spectrum, we now turn to the smallest monitor on this list. But with an expansive 41 Hz to 21 kHz frequency response and SPL up to 118dB, the BM6A packs a punch and keeps up with its full-size counterparts. Plus, when used alongside the BM14S subwoofer, you can utilize BM6A monitors as a small space-friendly 5.1 system.

Subwoofers

As with the studio monitors Dynaudio subs offer a clean, unmuddled low end that brings more impact and definition to your setup. Make no mistake, these subs aren’t adding additional, artificial bass to your mixes. Instead, it’s taking some of the workload off your main monitors so that you get an even wider frequency response and a more vivid sonic picture.

Dynaudio BM14S II Subwoofer

BM14S II

Built to use alongside BM Classic Series monitors, the second version of the BM14S comes with 300W of power and handles frequencies as low as 18 Hz.

Dynaudio Core Sub Active Subwoofer

Core Sub Active Subwoofer

This speaker features the same components and DSP features found in the rest of the Core line, but in a hefty sub with up to 120 dB output. Four 9-inch side-firing handmade Dynaudio hybrid aluminum woofers keep your low-end clear and present at any volume.

Dynaudio 9S Subwoofer

9S

Made to suit LYD and BMS Series speakers, the 9S takes the low-end load off your monitors for a more complete sound. The long-throw driver accurately brings out frequencies as low as 22 Hz, and the included lowpass filter lets you adjust your crossover frequency with ease.

Dynaudio 18S Subwoofer

18S

Finally, this sub takes everything from the 9S and packs it with a 500W Class D amplifier module, allowing for an impressive 16 Hz - 230 Hz response.
