Arturia has a long legacy of making innovative synthesizers, audio interfaces, and software that musicians love, but the brand’s AstroLab Series keyboards have been its biggest hit yet. Perfect for live performances or studio sessions, AstroLab combines the hands-on control of a stage keyboard with a massive, expandable sound library, so you can always find new sounds. From the full-sized AstroLab 88 to the compact AstroLab 37, there’s an AstroLab to fit any player’s needs. Let’s explore what makes this series stand out.

AstroLab Series

The AstroLab Series is designed to give players instant access to Arturia’s expansive sound library while preserving the feel and responsiveness of a real instrument. Each keyboard in the line functions as a standalone synth with its own internal engine, loaded with more than 1,800 classic and modern sounds from 44 iconic virtual instruments.

But the real power comes from its seamless integration with Arturia’s award-winning software. Pair any keyboard in the AstroLab Series with the brand’s popular V Collection, Pigments, and Sound Banks software to instantly gain access to more than 10,000 additional presets spanning analog polysynths, FM tones, classic organs, electric pianos, sampling engines, and so much more.

These aren’t simple samples either. AstroLab uses the same award-winning engines that power Arturia’s flagship instruments, including TAE® (True Analog Emulation) and PHI® physical modeling. That means a Rhodes patch isn’t just a recording, it’s a fully modeled instrument where controls like Brightness and Timbre literally reshape hammer hardness, tine distance, and other mechanical behaviors at the source.

Plus, every sound on AstroLab is fully customizable. Using Analog Lab Pro (included), you can tweak macros, swap effects, rebalance layers, or build patches from scratch. If you own V Collection, Pigments, or individual Arturia titles, you can design anything you want and send it straight to AstroLab with a single transfer.

Instead of loading the panel with dozens of knobs, AstroLab uses intelligently mapped macros that instantly control the parameters that matter most. A MiniMoog patch, for example, automatically assigns Brightness to the filter and Timbre to the resonance, giving you real-time control without slowing you down.

AstroLab isn’t designed to replace a full programming workstation; it’s built as a true performance keyboard. If you want to dive deep, you can still edit every detail inside Analog Lab Pro, but AstroLab keeps the focus on playing, not menu-hunting.

Performance features like the built-in arpeggiator, chord mode, and scale modes help you create complex musical ideas in minutes. Connection options are equally practical, with MIDI input and output, USB connectivity, and inputs for sustain pedals and expression controllers, plus Bluetooth audio and WiFi support.

With the AstroLab Connect app, you can organize sounds or update playlists directly from your phone, perfect for last-minute set changes before you walk on stage. You can even stream audio to the keyboard via Bluetooth. It’s incredibly handy for practicing along with demos, reviewing rehearsal recordings, or sketching songwriting ideas with just a pair of headphones and an AstroLab 37.

AstroLab grows with you, too. Regular firmware updates add new instruments, features, and workflow improvements as Arturia continues expanding its software ecosystem.

Arturia AstroLab 88

The AstroLab 88 is the largest in the series and Arturia's flagship performance keyboard. Its 88-note Fatar TP-40L keybed feels just like playing a real piano, with fully weighted hammer action and triple sensors that capture every nuance.

Under the hood, you'll find eleven different sound engines covering everything from virtual analog synthesis to sample playback, wavetable creation, FM tones, granular textures, physical modeling, vector synthesis, harmonic synthesis, phase distortion, vocoding, and Karplus synthesis. The effects section includes 17 insert effects plus dedicated delay and reverb processors, all controlled by four dedicated knobs for quick adjustments.

The MIDI looper feature sets the AstroLab 88 apart from typical stage pianos, letting you layer parts and build arrangements without touching a computer. Combined with the arpeggiator and chord modes, you can create full productions using just the keyboard.

Arturia AstroLab 61

For players who want the AstroLab experience in a more portable package, the 61-key version delivers the same great features with a semi-weighted synth-action keybed. The keys still include aftertouch for adding expression to sustained notes and patches.

The AstroLab 61 features 11 sound engines, including everything from the 88-key model except Karplus synthesis. This model comes loaded with 1,800 built-in sounds, giving you a massive library of tones right out of the box. The effects rack includes 17 insert effects along with dedicated delay and reverb, controlled by the same four-knob setup found on the larger model. All the performance features carry over too, including the arpeggiator, MIDI looper, chord mode, and scale modes.

Arturia AstroLab 37

The newest member of the AstroLab family brings the series down to its most compact form yet. The 37-note slim-key design makes it perfect for traveling musicians, small studios, or anyone who needs serious sound in a space-saving package.

The AstroLab 37 features a premium synth-action keybed with aftertouch for expressive playing. The slim keys feel great and respond accurately while taking up less space than traditional keyboard designs. This model also features a color display that makes browsing patches simple and clear, even in dim stage lighting.
