Keeping up with current guitar pedal releases can sometimes seem like a full-time job, there are just so many innovative brands who keep pushing the envelope and finding new ways to recreate classics. We wouldn't trade this embarrassment of riches for the world and that's why we put together a new video featuring our choices for the hottest pedals and effects of 2020 so far.
Our list starts with the Vongon Paragraphs, an outstanding analog four-pole resonant low pass filter pedal that has been flying off the shelves for the company. Next, the legendary Shin-Ei line is back, and we're talking specifically about the picture-perfect fuzz of the Companion. Rounding out the pedal selections on our list, Strymon discontinued its long-time compression option in the OB-1, but it's now back with the impeccable Compadre.
In the world of effects, we're excited to announce that we are the first official dealer for Echo Fix, a brand that has gone from being the best at fixing tape machines to making some of their very own. The EF-X2 sees Echo Fix taking the classic tape echo machine model and adding on some nice features for the modern studio. Also, we would be remiss if we did not mention effects from our friends at AMS and Meris, as the RMX16 and Hedra 500 Series have been sitting atop our bestseller lists since coming out earlier this year.
Enough talk, we're going to let Vintage King's resident pedal freak Dustin McLaughlin walk you through our list of the hottest pedals and effects of 2020 so far. Watch the video below to get a taste test of each piece of gear mentioned above and hear them used on several different sound sources.
