At the start of the Summer NAMM Show on Thursday, July 18th, Avid announced the release of the brand new S4 and S1 control surfaces. The pro audio giant teamed up with Vintage King for a special launch event later that evening at our Nashville showroom. This event was the first chance the general public had to see the new S4 and S1 up close and personal. Both control surfaces were on display at Vintage King Nashville, offering patrons a chance to interact with the new products, meet the Avid team and talk about what they could expect upon release.
“As the world’s leading resource for control surfaces, Vintage King is excited that Avid is continuing to create amazing hands-on interfaces with real faders, silky smooth knobs, and sharp displays,” says Vintage King’s Director of Sales Chris Bolitho. “These new interfaces are not only fast, easy, and intuitive, but are reassuringly familiar, making it much easier to run a session.” The Avid S4 is a customizable semi-modular control surface that allows users to harness the power of the S6 in a smaller package. There are four base configurations and three different desk sizes, allowing you to fill in the space with the modules that fit your workflow. Every configuration of the S4 is fully EUCON-enabled and offers intelligent control over top-selling DAWs like Pro Tools, Nuendo, Pyramix, Logic Pro, Cubase, and more. Avid’s new S1 is also a more compact version of another control surface classic, the S3. The S1 features the same intuitive interface and comes equipped with motorized faders, touch-sensitive knobs, and customizable soft keys. Engineers and producers can easily mute and solo tracks, fine-tune plugin parameters and write automation with unprecedented speed and precision.
As a premier partner of Avid, Vintage King’s Berry Hill showroom was a prime choice to host the S4 and S1 launch event. The Nashville brick and mortar storefront offers a studio-like environment for listening to a world-class gear selection of microphones, monitors, outboard gear, audio interfaces, control surfaces, and more.
