Avid Announces New Updates And Features For Pro Tools 2019.5
Earlier today, Avid announced the latest update to their industry-standard Pro Tools and Pro Tools | Ultimate software. The Pro Tools 2019.5 update boasts a plethora of new features, including an increase in voice limit for Pro Tools | Ultimate users, added support for macOS Mojave and new options for a more streamlined workflow.

Create and Mix with More Voices
In the early days of recording, engineers were often limited to just 8 tracks. In 2019, Pro Tools | Ultimate users can create massive sessions with up to 384 simultaneous audio tracks with just the software alone. Previously, Pro Tools users were capped at 256 voices — that’s a 50% increase!
Perfect for robust post-production sessions, intricate pop productions, and reviewing sessions in multiple rooms without being tethered to a Pro Tools | HDX system, Pro Tools 2019.5 makes it easier than ever to create complex productions.
And if that’s not enough, you can get up to 768 voices by adding native voice packs or Pro Tools | HDX cards. Purchase up to six voice packs for extra voices, ranging from 128 additional mono audio tracks at 48 kHz, or four additional 7.1 audio tracks at 192 kHz. Or, install up to three HDX cards in your Pro Tools | HDX system, with up to 384 extra voices per card.

Audio tracks aren’t the only thing getting an upgrade, as Pro Tools 2019.5 supports 1,024 MIDI tracks, up from 512. Use the included virtual instruments or some of your favorite third-party plug-ins to create complex soundscapes without having to stress about bouncing stems. Craft film scores, sample libraries and richly orchestrated pop productions with full articulation.
