UnderTone Audio Releases The UnFairchild Compressor

Under the banner of UnderTone Audio, famed producer and engineer Eric Valentine (Queens of the Stone Age, Slash) has released an incredible new compressor, the UnFairchild. This painstaking replica of the Fairchild 660/670 has long been in the works and is finally available from Vintage King. We sold out of our first batch of UnFairchilds in April, but you can be in on the next shipment if you order yours today by clicking here.

As an avid fan of the original Fairchild 670, Valentine was looking to create a more affordable take on the classic unit that would still deliver its trademark sound. At 1/5th the cost of an original Fairchild, UTA and Valentine have done just that by staying true to the characteristics of the original while also expanding the unit to be more flexible in the modern studio.

With six original preset Time Constants and four variable Time Constants, the UnFairchild allows for unprecedented control over your compression. The unit also features MS function, side chain processing, a true bypass, fine adjustment of left/right balance, user adjustable "DC Threshold", and "Feed-Back" vs. "Feed-Forward" functionality.
