I just took delivery of the new Slate Digital VMS 1, and though it was a toss up between my AKG C414 and my Sterling Audio Ocean Way ST 6050, the Slate digital is definitely my best Mic now. By itself it is so clean and precise that it took me by surprise. But add the models to it, and you've got magic. Having said that, you never have too many microphones!
