Studio Trilogy, a full service, multi-room recording facility in the heart of San Francisco’s SOMA district, recently installed an API 1608 32-channel console, accompanied by a custom-built Sterling Modular frame. The studio turned to Vintage King Audio, a leading dealer of high-end new and vintage recording equipment, when founders Justin Lieberman, Willie Samuels and Cindy McSherry made the decision to purchase the 1608, which they selected thanks to the console’s extreme flexibility and outstanding sonic qualities. Prior to the installation of the API 1608, Studio Trilogy’s facility had Digidesign D-controls in both the B and C rooms in addition to the SSL 9000 K in the A room. “We consulted with several engineers and producers before selecting our new console,” says Justin Lieberman. “It seemed pretty unanimous that the API was the best choice for us and really diversified our facility. Studio Trilogy now has three unique rooms that all have their own character.” Vintage King Audio’s Ryan McGuire assisted Studio Trilogy with the purchase of the API along with the custom furniture solution provided by Sterling Modular. “As a full-service facility that focuses on quality, we felt strongly about working with a similar-minded dealer,” continues Lieberman. “We wanted to build a relationship with a company that would be enthusiastic about helping us with the future growth of our studio. Vintage King was the name that kept coming up from everyone we talked with in the industry.”
