All Universal Audio Apollo X Gen 2 interfaces feature Unison-enabled mic preamps that enable real-time recording and monitoring with faithful emulations of legendary preamps from Neve, Manley, API, and more. Unison technology goes beyond simple tone-shaping by altering the input circuit’s impedance and analog gain structure so your microphone interacts with the interface just like it would with the original hardware. Insert any Unison-enabled UAD plug-in on an input channel in UAD Console or your DAW, set the preamp gain, and record using authentic emulations of classic preamps in real-time with near-zero latency.
Thanks to Universal Audio's HEXA Core DSP, the Apollo x6 Gen 2 offers plenty of processing power for running UAD plug-ins with near-zero latency while you record and mix. This onboard DSP offloads intensive processing from your host CPU, enabling you to track through channel strips, compressors, reverbs, and tape emulations without taxing your computer. Use the UAD Console to load plug-ins on input channels for real-time monitoring, or combine Apollo’s DSP with native plugins in your DAW for a hybrid workflow.
The Apollo x6 Gen 2 features Universal Audio's next-generation AD/DA conversion for pristine audio capture and playback at sample rates up to 192 kHz (24-bit). Boasting Dual-Crystal clocking and impressive dynamic range, the Apollo x6 Gen 2 minimizes jitter, distortion, and noise so your tracks retain maximum accuracy from source to mix.
Available as an optional add-on, Apollo Monitor Correction lets you flatten room and headphone response in real time using Sonarworks SoundID Reference profiles. Use Console to build low-latency headphone mixes, recall saved monitor setups, load UAD plug-ins, and engage talkback without touching the hardware.
Apollo x6 Gen 2 integrates seamlessly with Universal Audio's LUNA and is also compatible with Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Ableton Live, and other major DAWs via Core Audio and ASIO drivers. LUNA provides Accelerated Realtime Monitoring, native UAD and AU plug-in compatibility, an analog-style mixer, and useful features like auto-save and AAF import.
The Apollo x6 Gen 2 is designed to scale with your studio needs. Start with two mic preamps with Hi-Z instrument inputs and six additional line inputs, then use the Toslink optical ports to add more preamps or line inputs. Eight line outputs allow you to connect a full 5.1 monitor system and an additional stereo pair, while dual headphone jacks support independent cue mixes for tracking.
