I cannot figure out how these sell for only $160, unless most other headphones are grossly overpriced. In terms of overall musicality and comfort, I prefer these to a pair of Focals I owned that cost ten times as much. I listen to them through a Schiit Fulla DAC/amp. For $270 total, it is a very detailed and fun hi-fi for those like myself without the $$$, space, time, or desire to construct a speaker-based system...
They’re comfortable and sound amazing, the two most important boxes ticked for me. They’re also stylish and seem well-built. The fuzzy ear cups seem to breath better than the faux leather of some competitors. An upgrade from my old Sennheiser HD-280 pros in every way. If these have a similar lifespan (10 years or so) then I will be beyond satisfied.
Excellent tracking headphones. Light, comfortable, great midrange detail, even bass response, very good isolation so the sound does not bleed into your mics. Not expensive. Feels of quality and has parts that can be replaced if worn, so designed to last.
great frequency response and very comfortable. Slightly over priced but great headphones.
Though my customers generally like them, I find that they are a bit bright, and are not very loud. Our headphone amp is usually maxed out with them, and they don’t often have enough volume when used by a loud drummer or a vocalist that likes their cans really loud. They fit and feel very well, and the isolation is quite good though
Great headphones. Clarity is great and extra little bass bump while tracking is super helpful. Definitely my favorite pair of tracking headphone.
Over the years we've used all the big name headphones in our voiceover booth -- but these are by far the best. Because of the isolation, feedback is never an issue, even when working the mic close. And with the clear un-hyped sound and unmatched comfort, these are a pleasure to use everyday.
The best tracking headphone that I've found. My studio has 6 pairs and musicians love them because they have loads of isolation, get really loud, and are comfortable to wear hours at a time. Beyer is good about providing replacement parts if by chance something breaks on them, and you can replace the ear cups ever few years to freshen them up. A long term investment in a quality brand for the working commercial studio.
