For fans of Barefoot Sound, you’ll know the MiniMain12 as one of the most innovative monitors in the pro audio world. Offering accurate sounds that won’t compromise, the monitor is a perfect fit in any studio without a budget constraint. For Barefoot’s new Micromain45, the brand has stripped down its flagship monitor, while still offering the same quality sound as the original for a much smaller price tag.
The Barefoot MicroMain45 is the smallest model of the esteemed MicroMain series. Featuring the same amplifier, driver, and Multi-Emphasis Monitor Emulation™ technologies as the flagship MiniMain12, the MicroMain45 is stripped down to the bare essentials in order to deliver renowned Barefoot resolution and translation at a more affordable price. Prepare yourself for the Barefoot revolution!
Founded on the idea of creating a new type of audio monitor, Barefoot Sound was started by Thomas Barefoot to meet the growing needs of small to mid-sized project studios. By offering well-designed monitors that could take the space of several sets of speakers, audio enthusiasts are able to have more room for other types of gear, while still having an impeccable monitoring system. The new Barefoot Sound MM45 monitors follow in this lineage of incredible speakers like the MicroMain27, MicroSUB and MicroMain35.
“I need a monitor that is just very clean and precise and doesn’t add to the chaos I’m already creating. What surprised me about (the MicroMain45s) was most of the time, when I use monitors, it takes me a while to get used to them in the room they’re in, and the first time I put these guys in my office, it was like I was just already acclimatized to them. It was strange. It’s never happened to me before. It was like there was no, normally I’d have to listen to a ton of prerecorded albums and stuff that I know and get used to everything, and I didn’t have to do that with these. Yeah, I mean, I just really think they just give a real representation of what is being played and it just helps me create.”
- Alex Da Kid, GRAMMY-Nominated & Multi-Million Selling Record Producer
“The most important thing for me is that what I’m hearing is true, that I can trust what I’m hearing, and also a speaker that’s going to give me the positioning that I want, the detail that I want. I get into such finite detail of positioning and delays, and delays that go into reverbs. Maybe you don’t hear the delay, you just hear the reverb, and the reverb has reflections, but reflections have to cut off before the next part comes in, so my listening experience has to be absolutely precise.
I’ve been working with these Barefoots, the mm45s, now for about a month, and really love the definition in the high mid-range. The bottom end is great, it’s warm. I always love a lot of bottom end in my mixes, but the hardest thing on most speakers is to get that definition in the mid-range, because that’s where you hear a lot of the reflections in your reverbs and a lot of the delays.”
- Adam Moseley, Producer/Engineer/Mixer (U2, Beck, Lenny Kravitz)
