Product Description

The BAE 1073MPF is a preamp and filter-only version of the legendary Neve 1073 equalizer. With classic Carnhill transformers a hand-wired Class A design, the BAE 1073MPF perfectly captures the unmistakable sound of the original Neve 1073. Ideal for producers and engineers who want to add depth to two-bus mixes or mix-and-match preamps and EQs, the BAE 1073MP captures the unmistakable tone of the most iconic preamp ever made.

UNPARALLELED ACCURACY

The BAE 1073MPF uses the exact same circuit design as the original Neve 1073—from the Carnhill transformer coupled input to the hand-wired Class-A design. The BAE 1073MPF captures the same iconic sound signature and wide bandwidth as the original. Known for its rich low-end, edgy highs and focused midrange, the 1073 has been used on countless hit records. And now it can be yours—for a fraction of the price.

The BAE 1073MPF also introduces new features for added versatility. An all-new line input on the rear can be used to process line-level signals—perfect for fattening up the mix bus! And with a DI input for passive and active instruments on the front, there’s no signal that won’t benefit from the colorful sound of the BAE 1073MP.

CLASSIC CONTROLS

The BAE 1073MPF features a silky-smooth Elma rotary switch and classic red knob for setting line and mic level gain. On the left, the blue knob controls the high pass filter, which has a fixed slope at 18 dB per octave and is switchable between 50 Hz, 80 Hz, 160 Hz and 300 Hz. This gentle, music filter is perfect for everything from removing rumble and room noise from vocal recordings to taming kick drums and bass cabs or even high-passing cymbal mics to remove drum bleed.

Four push-buttons provide added functionality for a wide range of studio applications. The DI button engages the high-impedance instrument input for recording guitars and synths, while the LINE enables the line-level input.

The 48 V button provides phantom power for condenser microphones. The phase reversal button inverts the phase of a signal—perfect for recording snare bottom mics! Finally, a toggle switch on the right lets you select 1200 or 300 ohm microphone impedance for capturing pristine sound with any microphone.

Features:

  • All Class A, transformer-coupled design in a 19" 1U chassis
  • Inductor based high pass filter
