The BAE 1073DMP is a compact, portable desktop microphone preamp and DI inspired by the legendary Neve 1073 equalizer. With a Carnhill input transformer and a Cinemag DI transformer, the BAE 1073DMP is perfect for adding richness and depth to any instrument in the studio or on the stage.
The BAE 1073DMP uses the same classic Carnhill (St Ives) transformers and hand-wired circuit design as the original Neve 1073 and 1084 modules. Enable phantom power using the 48 V button to record vocals and other instruments with your favorite condenser microphones.
Equipped with the ‘Bootsy Collins’ mod, a Cinemag DI transformer—the BAE 1073 is also a fully featured DI box. Fatten up bass tracks with rich harmonic saturation, or use BAE 1073DMP to re-amp your guitar to one or more cabinets.
The BAE 1073DMP features rugged microphone input and output connectors, as well as a DI input and two DI ‘thru’ outputs. Press the 48 V button to enable phantom power for condenser microphone recordings, or press the phase reverse switch to invert the polarity of your signal. Dial in the perfect gain stage using silky-smooth Elma rotary switches for input and output gain.
With a built-in power supply, and a compact, lightweight design, the BAE 1073DMP is portable enough to take to any recording session. The BAE 1073DMP’s rugged steel chassis makes it the perfect touring companion for capturing studio-quality sound on the road.

I have a small studio, and I found that using the M160 ribbon microphone, with the bae dmp 1073, and Carl Martin reverb, gives an amazing sound for classical, steel string guitar, and voice. I’m still waiting to try my flamenco guitar, but I’m sure it will be good as well. If you can afford it, you won’t regret buying it. I found it to be much better than my TL audio tube preamp.
Great value for money. Built like a tank. Does wonders for any source, mics and instruments. Desktop format is unique and convenient.
Great pre amp. Paired with a good dynamic mic, like the EV RE20, and vocals will sound rich. I also plug in direct for my Fender American P bass and hardly have to do any post processing. Great buy, a little pricey, but great great buy nonetheless.
