The Avid S4 Control Surface is a customizable semi-modular control surface that harnesses the mixing power of the award-winning Avid S6 in a smaller, more affordable package. With an intuitive interface, an ergonomic design and total tactile control over your favorite DAW, the S4 is the perfect fit for any workflow. The S4—16-fader, 5-foot base configuration is the most flexible surface in the S4 series, with extensive customization options, making it ideal mid-sized music studios, audio post production facilities and media education facilities.
Quickly access every aspect of your mix from the S4’s Master Touch Module, which includes a dedicated touch screen and knobs for adjusting control parameters. Equipped with a dedicated Automation Module with a full transport control section, the S4 offers the same advanced controls as other high-end Avid consoles in a compact package, including a shuttle wheel, a focus fader, automation control, a numeric keypad, and more. Equipped with two of the new Channel Strip Modules, the S4—16-fader, 5-foot base configuration offers a total of 16 faders and 64 knobs for adjusting track levels, editing plugins and more.
The Avid S4’s semi-modular design can be customized to suit your workflow. The S4—16-fader, 5-foot base configuration can support up to three Channel Strip Modules for a maximum of 24 faders—perfect for mid-sized mixing sessions. Gain in-depth visual insight into your mix with up to four Display Modules with easy-to-read LED screens. Or take a more hands-on approach and add up to two more Attention Knob Modules for a grand total of 160 assignable top-lit knobs, giving you unparalleled control over your mix.
For post production facilities, the S4—16-fader, 5-foot base configuration can be customized with the optional Joystick Module, which features dual touch-sensitive joysticks with TFT and OLED displays for precise placement in surround sound mixes. The optional Post Module is perfect for toggling between different speaker setups using two rows of PEC/DIRECT paddles.
S4 is EUCON-enabled and offers intelligent control over Pro Tools, Nuendo, Pyramix, Logic Pro, Cubase, and other audio software for faster, more efficient mixing. You can even mix tracks from two different DAWs simultaneously. And with advanced metering capabilities and visual feedback for Pro Tools waveforms, you can rest assured you’re making well-informed mix decisions.
