The Avid Pro Tools MTRX 128 Channel IP Audio Dante Module allows you to add up to 128 channels of high-density, low-latency digital audio using Dante (128 channels at 44.1 kHz or 32 channels at 192 kHz).
Pro Tools | MTRX features eight pairs of AES/EBU I/O and 64 channels of MADI I/O in the base unit to get you started, but otherwise comes “empty.” This enables you to completely customize the audio interface with up to eight option cards for your unique music and/or audio post workflow needs.
You can mix and match up to six analog I/O cards to support up to 48 analog channels per MTRX interface, design an all-digital box with up to eight digital I/O cards (supporting up to 1,088 Dante channels or 1,216 MADI channels when maxed out with all available cards and modules), or configure it with any combination of analog and digital I/O. And if you’re mixing Dolby Atmos or other immersive audio format, the SPQ Speaker Processing Card will optimize your monitoring experience.
Best, clearest sounding interface I had so far. I owned Apogee Symphony I/O, Antelope Orion, RME fireface, Avid Omni, Apollo X, etc. this is by far the best. And the routing capability is incredible. This is My first Avid HDX card, it makes a huge difference, tracking latency free. Rock solid. The TB box and HDX card has some fan noise, but I don’t track in the same room. Highly recommended
Great system, exactly what we needed for our record setup. 32+channels into ProTools via our Dante network without any issues. Our Sales rep Jeff at VintageKing was super helpful all along the way. Only issue I had was with Avid not including as standard a second mini digilink cable in with the unit to utilise the 32+ IO on the HDX card that you are paying them royally for.
Could you please explain how to get it up to 64-channel Pro Tools | HD interface..
There's little doubt in my mind, at any rate, that Digital Audio Denmark carries with them the best converters that are on the earth. Perhaps I'm ignorant, perhaps a little dim witted, embellishing and outright making false claims - yet I can attest being a singer/songwriter, to this amazing interface/converter compared to 20+ years of myself using DAW's starting out with ghetto vis a vis terrible gear. Eventually evolving towards the best. Take heed that you be aware Avid is a software company. Frankly, IMHO the 192's, 96's and the so called "new" (despite them being rather pathetically old for years and years) Avid I/O's are really poorly lacking in many respects. My point? (pardon the overly verbose nature of my writing) What you have is Avid teaming with DAD to produce the ultimate. (ie DAD produces the hardware, while Avid applies the hardware towards their software) I highly suspect, the half life of the MTRX will outshine anything for many years to come, whereby making it a very wise investment. If you really want to creme de la creme, BUY IT.
