The Avantone Pro CLA-200 Studio Reference Amplifier is a classically designed Class A/B amplifier. Avantone took particular care to create an amplifier in the traditional studio style, with generous VU meters, high quality Japanese components and a serious toroidal transformer linear power supply. In a standard 2U rack mount chassis, this amplifier can generate over 200 watts per channel into an 8 Ohm load, making it perfect for medium to large speakers in a studio environment. The CLA200 is convection cooled – no fan noise, so it can be used in the same room as the monitors.
The CLA-200 Studio Reference Amplifier is designed to be used in a studio environment requiring high power output with no fan noise. Under testing, it delivers a powerful 208 watts into 8 Ohms and can run at one third power without thermal fault.
The CLA-200 was designed to be paired with the CLA-10 studio monitors, but it can be used with just about any demanding speaker load. Very low distortion, steady performance under harsh conditions, and an open and transparent sound make this an obvious choice for discerning studios.
The Avantone Pro CLA-200 Studio Reference Amplifier is a dynamic, high output, high resolution, full-range system built the old school way. Avantone included no-compromise components in a 2U convection cooled chassis to complement the CLA-10 Studio Reference Monitors. Of course, it can be used with any passive studio monitor requiring serious dynamic range.
The CLA-200 Studio Reference Amplifier is designed to be used in a studio environment requiring high power output with no fan noise. Under testing, it delivers a powerful 208 watts into 8 ohms and can run at one third power without thermal fault. The CLA-200 has zero fan noise, as it’s convection cooled — which makes it perfectly suited for control room installation.
Incredible and very strong amp, thought it might not be enough for Urei 809, wrong there to my surprise. Great sounding and no strain whatsoever on the amp. Good choice.
This amp was a huge improvement over the Hafler I'd been using with my NS10's for 3 decades. Make's NS10's actually enjoyable.
Using this to power my Yamaha NS10m monitors. It’s perfect (possibly overkill … but awesome). RECOMMENDED HIGHLY
Build quality is as good as you can hope for, and it works perfectly with my CLA-10’s, but every review will tell you that. I had a sufficient Class A/B amp before, which actually had more power, and so I hesitated, questioning ‘is there going to be a sonic difference worth replacing my amp with this one?’ It’s of course going to vary, what each person hears, but what I heard made it an easy decision to keep the CLA-200. The frequency response was more or less the exact same. It’s almost a different feeling. It seemed during my A/B testing that the old amp had the high end very forward, but the CLA-200 felt more spacious, and natural. The low end with the old amp was good, and sounded correct, but as with the high end, the low end sounded more rich, as punchy as ever, but still as honest a response as I expected it to be. These differences were not drastic at all; very subtle, but it changed my perception of the way I heard my monitors enough for me to be sold on this amp. Hope this helps someone whose on the fence!
Really made my NS 10s come alive. Need better quality control though my gain knobs are misaligned can’t get them off to move them either.
Hooked up my Yamaha NS-10’s to it and they sound awesome..Great Amp!!
