The Austrian Audio OC-S10 is a reference large-diaphragm condenser microphone, meticulously designed for recording lead vocals and solo instruments with unparalleled precision. Featuring a preselected range of the patented CKR12 ceramic capsule and an ultra-fast and accurate low-noise circuitry. Including five selectable polar patterns, three low-cut filter options and switchable -10 dB and -20 dB pads, the OC-S10 offers exceptional versatility to suit any recording scenario. In combination with the dual-output (both standard XLR) it is designed to perfectly fit into the AUSTRIAN AUDIO Plug-in suite environment with Polar Pilot, Stereo-Creator and Ambi-Creator. Providing maximum postproduction flexibility, ensuring you can discover and craft your perfect sound imagination.
The included shock mount features a ball-joint connection for precise and delicate positioning, making setup effortless. Additionally, the magnetically attached frameless metal mesh filter effectively reduces unwanted plosive sounds while preserving the full richness and detail of the vocal spectrum.
Austrian Audio has established itself worldwide in the top league of pro-audio manufacturers in recent years. A significant contribution to this has been made by the sensitive design of the CKR12 ceramic capsule. During the development of the OC-S10, aspects such as roadworthiness and a slim design were put aside in order to bring the fantastic sound of the CKR12 capsule to the recording completely unadulterated. The completely new circuit design was implemented using discrete components and symmetrical current feedback amplifiers, specially designed for a high slew rate. This results in incredible precision in the reproduction of transients with minimal self-noise.
Of course, with OC-S10's Dual Mode, the front and back of the capsule can also be tapped separately. The OC-S10 is also unique in its processing possibilities with the PolarDesigner and StereoCreator plugins in the Post Pro. These enable designers to access the polar pattern or the desired stereo image. This results in previously unprecedented possibilities in post-processing in dealing with room sound, proximity effect, and unwanted sibilance.
The supplied pop filter can be magnetically fixed to the shock mount in the optimal distance to the OC-S10. By using a frameless metal foam, a strong attenuation of pop and wind noise can be maintained with almost no impact on the frequency response. Usual pop filter designs may introduce harsh comb filters through reflections. The refraction and dissipation in the porous metal material prevents plosives from reaching the OC-S10 without creating disturbing high frequency artifacts.
