The 5C Active Super Sound Cube contains an integrated award-winning mono amplifier, a twist on Auratone’s A2-30 dual-channel amplifier which was designed and built in Europe in collaboration with Bettermaker. The amplifier uses an enclosure — hand crafted in Auratone’s Nashville shop — with the same dimensions as the passive 5C. Additionally, the 5C Active Super Sound Cube uses an external DC power supply for optimal overcurrent, and protection against overheating, so you can listen to your mixes without worry.
After years of requests, Auratone has engineered the 5C Active Super Sound Cube, the triumphant return of an iconic speaker. Finally, TEC award-winning speakers are available in an active format with a custom amplifier from Bettermaker. Auratone’s Super Sound Cube speakers were made famous in the 70s and 80s and continue to be the industry standard for referencing in recording studios around the world. Once the original speakers ceased manufacturing, the gap in the marketplace was palpable.
