Originally from Long Island, Blake Bergman now joins the VK family by way of Los Angeles. Starting piano lessons at the early age of 6, Blake continued on with his piano training for most of his upbringing. Drawing great inspiration from Billy Joel, Blake finds fascination in great storytelling, as well as the art of hook-worthy piano composition. Moving to LA at 17, Bergman spent time interning at Revolver Recordings before opening his own studio. Citing the iconic LA-2A as his favorite gear piece, Blake's strategy for making records involves utilizing unique signal chains while ultimately trying to convey a story to the listener.
When asked about the best production advice he's received, Bergman keeps it simple: "It's not about all the plug-ins in the chain; make it sound good going in, before anything else." Drawing inspiration from the payoff of a well-mixed final track, Blake brings his production knack and sharp ear to the VK team to help users get the most out of their recordings and truly experience their music. Outside of the world of pro audio, Blake continues to pursue his acting goals and maintains a strong interest in mixed martial arts.

What record do you point to as an example of perfect music production? Why?
Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody. With the ability to capture an audience for that long of a period of time through dynamic changes and visualizations, Bohemian Rhapsody continues to amaze me.
What made you want to come work at Vintage King?
As soon as I stepped into the Vintage King LA Showroom for the first time, I fell in love. The equipment, the people and the general atmosphere were more than enjoyable. I felt like a kid in a candy shop. After spending time at other sales jobs, I knew I needed to bring my skills to this incredible company and finally be able to sell the equipment that I love.
