The Apogee Duet is a two-input, four-output USB audio interface with pristine-sounding preamps and mastering-grade digital audio converters. Perfect for musicians, producers and engineers on the go, Duet offers world-class sound in a portable package. Paired with an elegant interface and an intuitive software controller, Duet makes it easier than ever to create studio-quality recordings anywhere you go.
Duet packs a surprising amount of connectivity in its sleek, compact interface. Connect microphones, guitars, line-level instruments and even analog signal processors using two combination line/mic/instrument inputs on the included breakout cable. Each input offers selectable 48 V phantom power for connecting condenser microphones. A soft limiter keeps recordings from peaking, while the phase invert option keeps your stereo recordings in check. Capture your recordings using two cutting-edge microphone preamps with up to 75 dB of gain.
Duet is equipped with four analog outputs, two balanced line outputs and a separately controlled 1/4-inch stereo headphone output. With so many monitoring options, recording engineers can create a separate headphone mix for performers while tweaking the mix on the main monitors.
Duet features an intuitive interface with two configurable touchpads and a multi-function controller knob. The touchpads can be programmed to “Mute Outputs”, “Dim Outputs”, “Sum to Mono” or “Toggle Headphone Source” using Apogee’s Maestro 2 software. The controller knob allows you to quickly toggle through inputs and outputs, adjust mic gain, and set output levels. The full-color OLED display delivers visual feedback for a variety of functions.
Compatible with Mac, Windows, and iOS devices, the Duet helps you capture your creativity whenever inspiration strikes. With a compact footprint and a durable design, Duet fits neatly on your desktop, or safely in the bottom of your bag for world-class recording and monitoring anywhere you go.
Windows 10 compatibility is now standard for the latest generations of ONE, Duet and Quartet USB audio interfaces. Customers who purchase the latest generation of these products will be able to register and download a Windows 10 compatible software installer from Apogee’s website. Existing customers will also have access to the download.
The Windows software installers will include a firmware update for the hardware, custom Apogee ASIO audio driver and PC compatible version of Apogee’s Maestro application for controlling audio interface settings and low latency monitoring. All the same functionality currently available to Mac and iOS users will be available to Windows 10 users and the same interface can be used on either Mac, PC or iOS.

As far as I know, Apogee hasn’t come up with a cable to connect to the newer Thunderbolt iPads yet, so you can’t access the software to modify parameters when using the Duet with an iPad, which is quite annoying. Everything else is great.
