Verge Modeling Microphone
The Antelope Audio Verge is a new small diaphragm modeling microphone from Antelope Audio designed to be paired with the new Discrete series audio interfaces. In order to reproduce any small diaphragm classic mic, Antelope chose the cleanest possible mic design.
The Verge can handle very high SPL levels, up to 132 dB, without the use of a pad and can replicate the responses of the industries top small condenser mics. The frequency range spans from 40 Hz - 20 kHz. The Verge uses discrete electronics which are matched and calibrated for the Accusonic preamps that are available in the new Discrete interfaces. The user interface allows you to change the microphone pre or post-recording as well as adjust the high-pass filter.
Using the AFX2DAW plug-in, you can control and store all your settings within your DAW. Eight AFX can be saves and recalled into your session. You can have as many mics models active as you have available preamps in your Discrete Antelope interface.
Pair the Verge microphone with a Discrete interface by taking advantage of the pre-built bundles by Antelope. Owners of other Antelope FPGA ready interfaces are eligible for preferred pricing for individual mics and bundles.

Sound is great. Build is great. My struggle was with the afx2daw plugin setup. I was a bit frustrated with the process because it wasnt clear to me. However, after getting the plugins sorted out and now up and running I am moderately satisfied. The restarting of my computer, while connected to the interface surprised me. My setup has been working fine for about a month now. Fingers crossed.

I have owned a couple audio interfaces and this is by far the best one yet. The pre-amps sound amazing with extreme clarity and definition unlike anything I have ever heard before. It was like taking a blanket off of my speakers, I was honestly blown away. The build of the body is incredible and can withstand nearly any situation you can throw at it. Another thing I have been blown away with is the DSP & FPGA processing.... zero latency, and the Antelope plug-ins sound amazing. Highly recommend this unit, Antelope has proven they can craft an interface that can compete with the best of them no doubt!

I have been using the Antelope Audio Discrete 8 for a few months now and am very impressed by it. The AD/DA is world class, mic pres are even better. I have recorded clients on Cello, Vocals, Saxophone, Clarinet, Guitar and more and it does them all with stellar quality and life like "Analog, console grade, 3D sound quality.” The plugins also sound really good and of coarse take the load off of your cpu quite a bit with 8 channels. I pare it with an MPC X which also has 8 channels and it works beautifully. The ability to use this on both Mac and PC was also important to me which I could not find with other companies. Highly recommended.

The interface is incredible. a very reduced price for all its benefits. It has been the best buy in many years.
I must say that it outperformed UAD for the most part. I look forward to manley emulations.

Let me start by saying I’m a audio professional who has 30 yrs in the business. In my film and tv projects I’ve relied upon the Antelope clocks to deliver accurate imaging to the mix so I was confident that their audio interfaces would sound great. I was not disappointed! The install of software was somewhat cumbersome but successful. The big negative for me is that the plugins are not compatible with Digital Performer and fail when examined. Part of my promo package included the modeling microphone which does not work with DP.
Bottom line this is a great sounding interface. If your Digital Performer user you might look at other products to get a full functioning system. -

I owned the original Orion 32 and it was the single most essential upgrade I have ever made in my studio. When it came time to downsize and create a smaller desktop studio I knew that this was the perfect interface for my needs as a drummer and electronic musician who needs a lot mic pre inputs. These mic preamps sound great. Clean and clear with fantastic imaging and musicality. When you pair them with the DSP/FPGA effects, you can create any front end you like, choosing from a variety of classic preamps, EQs and compressors and track those dialed in tones. This way you can more accurately record exactly what you want, and pull mixes together more easily.
If you are a guitar player, look no further. The included AFX include classic guitar amps and cabinets, complete with mic placement capabilities. This device also includes 2 re-amp outs so you can get creative sending tracks out to pedals and amps, then record them back in. Many creative possibilities await you here. A very pleasant surprise that I was not expecting is that the re-amp outs can be switched to monitor outs, giving you 2 stereo pairs of monitor outs. Now you don't need a monitor controller to run 2 sets of studio monitors. To top that all off the interface control panel includes a great reverb.
I look forward to exploring all the creative possiblities this unit has in store as the heart of my studio. Thank you to Antelope for creating professional gear at a price point that make sense.

I almost didn't buy this interface because my laptop isn't equipped with thunderbolt. I've been using it connecting with USB 2.0 and it's been steady and stable with no audible latency. I'm extremely pleased with my investment so far. Antelope support has been very accessible and friendly. Beyond getting a product that is quality and reliable, it's also important to me to have a good experience with the company you buy from.

i mean just...WOW. Where to begin with this thing?? Whether you are new or seasoned to engineering, you will be impressed with the Antelope Discrete 8 Synergy Core. I upgraded from a Tascam-1800 and it was literally NIGHT and DAY. This is more than an interface you are buying, its an entire recording machine that takes massive amounts of CPU load off your computer, has extremely high-quality preamps that open/brighten your tone for each channel it has, contains a virtual interface for you to work with on the screen that gives you the ability to add 8 unique plug-in effects to each channel WHILE LIVE RECORDING (virtually half the selection is included for free with the current promotion), and an enormously versatile field of choice when it come's to what you need to record whether it is drums, bass, vocals, synth, guitar, etc. all encapsulated by this powerful piece of art/technology. I was using low end audio interface. Time came for me to upgrade with more input channels. My production friend recommended me Antelope for its know reputation on universal clocking. Spend several weeks to research on many different audio interfaces. And, I decided to go for Antelope Audio Discrete 8 Synergy Core. So far, I am very happy with this interface. The sound quality is way way better. I have now 8 channels with Preamp. The plug-ins rocks. I compared one of compressors with bundled plugin in Cubase. The plugin is much much better. And, I do notice any delays. I had several channels assigned the compressors. Still no delay. Only wish I have is that the talkback can be routed to Monitor 2 as well. I could send monitor sound with HP2 as talkback works with HP2. But, if I could use monitor 2, it would be awesome as I can have two HPs at the control desk.
