The Antelope Audio Verge is a new small diaphragm modeling microphone from Antelope Audio designed to be paired with the new Discrete series audio interfaces. In order to reproduce any small diaphragm classic mic, Antelope chose the cleanest possible mic design.
The Verge can handle very high SPL levels, up to 132 dB, without the use of a pad and can replicate the responses of the industries top small condenser mics. The frequency range spans from 40 Hz - 20 kHz. The Verge uses discrete electronics which are matched and calibrated for the Accusonic preamps that are available in the new Discrete interfaces. The user interface allows you to change the microphone pre or post-recording as well as adjust the high-pass filter.
Using the AFX2DAW plug-in, you can control and store all your settings within your DAW. Eight AFX can be saves and recalled into your session. You can have as many mics models active as you have available preamps in your Discrete Antelope interface.

MIC EMULATIONS:
My favorite interface of all the ones I owned. I have had Motu, RME, Yamaha, Avid and Apogee Interfaces in the past. The antelope has the best conversion clocking and preamps of all of them!
I have done a ton of research on interfaces with nice pre-amps, and after looking around I don't think any are as good as this, esp. with this bundle deal. The preamps sound amazing, the fx sound great, and I immediately have put this into the center of my home recording studio. The Edge Solo is really nice, and it is just crazy you get all of this for $999. Installing the software is slightly confusing, but there's a good video series to help and the customer service is great if you have any questions. I've read a lot of reviews about Antelope having bad drivers and software, but I haven't run into any issues running this with Pro Tools on Windows 10. Whatever was going on before has been ironed out. I recommend this to all of my friends who are thinking about getting something like this or many and Apollo.
First time customer and bought from Dave Fisk, who helped me after hours! I did a lot of research when looking into a new audio interface to replace my old unit. Compared this to other brands including UAD, Arturia, RME. For the money, Antelope Audio offered a LOT! I pulled the trigger and I'm very pleased with my decision. The sound is just phenomenal and the converters are precise and clinical. The monitor line goes to an audiophile setup and the presentation and dynamics is just pure enjoyment. This unit has an added benefit of doubling like an expensive audiophile DAC for your listening setup. I'm on a Mac 2018 Big Sur. No hiccups, AFX2DAW just works. I plugged in the edge solo microphone, set up the routing, chose one the Berlin mics and was able to post on my Youtube channel in no time at all. Pros: - Superb audio and dynamics - Number of connections - The plugins! - AFX2DAW - Price point - The mic plugins!
