The Antelope Orion 32 HD is a powerful professional recording interface that combines digital clarity with analog warmth. Featuring zero-latency monitoring, 64 channels of pristine AD/DA conversion, and industry-leading clocking, Orion 32 HD has everything you need to record stunning tracks in any DAW. Add vintage vibes to your tracks in real-time using the ever-expanding library of FPGA FX.
Orion 32 HD features up to 64 channels of exceptional AD/DA conversion via DB25, MADI, ADAT and SPDIF, making it easy to connect any number of devices. Seamlessly sync audio across multiple sources with Antelope’s 64-bit clocking technology. Continuing Antelope Audio’s longstanding tradition of superb sound, Orion 32 HD offers I/O streaming of up to 64 channels of 192 kHz/24-bit audio. Orion 32 HD uses mastering grade monitor outputs for pristine monitoring and employs the same circuitry as the popular Pure2 Mastering Converter to deliver detailed transients.
Ask any musician and they’ll tell you the most important requirement for getting a good performance in the recording studio is a quality monitoring system. Sure, a classic instrument, a vintage microphone and some mood lighting doesn’t hurt, but none of that means a thing if the artist can’t hear themselves accurately. Even a few milliseconds of delay can easily throw a performance out of whack. With Orion 32 HD artists never have to worry about latency, instead, they’re free to focus on the performance. Artists can even enjoy zero latency monitoring while using DSP plug-ins.
Antelope Audio is known for their crisp, clean, modern sound, but sometimes you need a little vintage vibe. That’s why Orion 32 HD features an integrated and ever-growing library of hardware-based vintage EQs, compressors and more with their proprietary FPGA effects plug-ins. Instantly add analog grit to tracks with emulations of tape machines, preamps, amps & cabs, equalizers, compressors and even microphones.
Orion32 HD is fully controllable via its intuitive OS X and Windows compatible desktop app. Its color-coded routing matrix now features an alternative view making routing a piece of cake. The interface can be also accessed from multiple computers on the same network. With freely movable and resizable panels you can maximize the most out of your computer monitor space, perfect when working on huge projects, scoring to picture and on multiple screen set ups.
Orion32HD Gen3, the hardware is awesome, the software suite is a nightmare. It seems the support staff doesn't really understand the issues with studio I/O. Phase lock between output to input for example is an issue. You end up having to do a loop back test every time you open your DAW when you need to record tracks to adjust the recording sample offset to guarantee sample accurate. I used RME with ADATs for years, it never ever had this issue. The there is the issue of when you go to pull up the control panel and it can't find the hardware. All this leads to hours of troubleshooting and reinstalling the software and changing versions constantly. I prefer to spend all this time making music instead. I am looking for a good alternative or maybe will be going back to RME with ADAT HD24 converters.
Easy to set up and sounds great. Comes with rack ears!
This Thing sounds amazing that’s all I can say
i love this thing
This is an outstanding value on a great sounding unit. I've a/b'ed this unit as well as the Gen 3 against the current Avid interfaces as well as UAD and have seen rooms of people instantly agree on the Antelope for its detailed top end and overall fidelity.
I had been eyeing the Antelope Orion convertor for many years and I finally pulled the trigger. I was really excited that they dropped a USB3 that allowed the full 32 in/out, that way I could fully utilize this with my console. I gotta say, when I first ran audio through it, it was pretty jaw dropping. Getting this converter was the missing piece to get my records sounding like records I fawn over. I have been using this very regularly since April and have had zero audio quality issues with this. The latency in relaxed is virtually unnoticeable when playing guitar through an amp sim in my DAW and when bumped up to extreme low, I feel no latency playing. A+++++ in sound quality. I have tried out all the included plugins that came with it and am really impressed. I really like being able to patch them into my session like a hardware insert to utilize them. Very pleased. The one ding is the getting the control software to load all the time is hit and miss. I randomly lost my inputs during a recording session and after debugging, I had to reload my saved session settings. Since then, I have gotten in the habit to open the Antelope software, load my default setting then get my session started. Doing that has alleviated many headaches. I love this unit.
the depth of sound and clarity is amazing. It is like hearing sound for the 1st time. Even my older songs after rendering have a better sound, and stereo image to them. The only thing I do not care for is that the software mixer cannot integrate with a DAW controller. I have used large format consoles for recording for years so this is a VERY big adjustment, and I do not care for it at all. I would love for there to be a couple of improvements in the mixer software to make it a more console like or even DAW like. Channel link that lets faders stay in the positions I choose. independent reverbs and delays would be very nice with additional mic sends for better headphone mixing, as well as the fore mentioned DAW controller integration. This is an incredible product and you will be NOTHING but happy with your purchase!
My best convertor yet.
I bought this interface for analog summing through a 32 channel passive summing box that I've built. I use a pair of Neve 1073 preamps to re-establish the gain level of the sum, bouncing it back to a stereo track. As I'm able to increase the gain output of each stem being spread out through these 32 crystal clear converters, it beautifully adds all the depth, definition and dimension that it is just impossible to attain from ITB mix. I haven't got the time to go much deeper on the FXs, but they do sound great from what I've tried so far. Designed to allow very complex configuration and routings possibilities, the control panel doesn't seem very friendly to the beginner. Neither does the driver integration with the DAW. But I like it. :-) If it had a monitor level pot and headphones outputs it would be just too perfect to be true. Worth every penny invested. SOUNDS AMAZING. I couldn't be happier. Thanks Jeff Ehrenberg for the magnificent assistance!
I really like the Antelope Orion 32 He. Vintage King was awesome!
