I like the sound of this when you need a thickness to fill a sparse mix on a vocal. It shows its weight w bass guitar. I haven't gotten around to other uses but it isn't good on a big mix for a vocal. It can't cut through well, as the width is hidden as well the highs. It may be my unit but it chokes when I belt. I hear a wobble. Thus the 4 stars. I have other AML 500 gear and love the heck out of that vintage vibe it lends to everything as well this compressor. I can't compare it to a the Neve as I don't own one "yet".
Compression is great, closest thing I’ve found to a 2254.
