AKG C61 #6988 (Vintage)

Tube condenser mic system. Includes CK1 cardioid capsule with 7586 tube and original N61A PSU.



Detailed tone with musical sounding amplifier. Tight lows, sweet mids with an open top end. More forgiving sounding than current 451 versions now available new. Very nice choice for hi-hat, overheads, acoustic guitars, most stringed instruments, piano, etc.

The C61 was one of the last tube mics manufactured by AKG before the transistors took over. They were only made for a few years in the late 60s and are consequently very scarce. Similar to its cousin the C60, but using a Nuvistor tube instead of the AC701.
