Great!
The MPC One has been one of the most inspiring pieces of gear I've acquired in a very long time. I play live drums, guitar and keyboards, and my workflow has always depended on recording to Pro Tools. Now I just record directly to the MPC whenever inspiration flows , or just jam directly on with it (with update 2.10 and it's capacity to connect a multichannel interface). Once I record any instruments to it I use it for experimenting and creating sounds and textures that would be a pain to do with a mouse and keyboard. Hands-on control with knobs, buttons and pads makes it like a childhood toy for professional musicians. There's no replacing the infinite capacity of a DAW, and I'l continue to mix and master songs on Pro Tools, but this machine has sparked new ideas and new songs in my head that the DAW didn't inspire me to do before. The inherent limitations of the system allow my brain to figure out new arrangements. It's not an instrument for everyone, and many will it find it daunting at first. But if anyone is stuck creatively, this machine is not just for beat making, it's truly a music inspiration playground.
I haven’t used it yet but I know it’s a good beat maker but I’m still trying it out to work with reason 11
