Our Demo Deals offer a unique opportunity to save big on open box, fully warrantied gear. These items are typically customer returns or factory refurbished and may have signs of cosmetic wear. The Akai Professional MPC X is a fully-functional standalone music production center—no computer required—with 2GB of onboard RAM and 16 GB of storage, plus two USB slots that can be used for MIDI controller connectivity. The interface includes a 10.1-in. full-color multi-touch screen; 16 backlit velocity- and pressure-sensitive RGB pads; 16 touch-sensitive, assignable Q-Link rotary encoders with associated high-resolution OLED displays; and dozens of dedicated function buttons; as well as gain, mix, and level knobs.

The MPC X runs MPC 2.0 software natively in standalone mode, but when you want to access your favorite VSTs and plug-ins, it can become a high-powered MIDI controller running MPC 2.0 in your DAW. New features in MPC 2.0 include audio track recording, improved time warp, enhanced Q-Link control, and audio and MIDI drag and drop, all in a new GUI.

MPC X comes pre-installed with 10GB of world-class sounds. The Vault 2.0 features samples and kits from top-notch sound design companies including CAPSUN ProAudio, MVP Loops, and CR2 Records, as well as Akai. If you want to incorporate your own samples without tethering to a computer, a 2.5-in. SATA drive connector provides additional storage via the installation of a fixed SSD or HDD hard drive (sold separately). Alternatively, sounds can be accessed and added to the library using the built-in SD Card slot or the USB thumb drive, or you can record directly to any storage location.

New features in the MPC X make it Akai’s most powerful stand-alone music production tool to-date. Onboard CV/Gate outputs enable analog control of modular gear, classic synths, and drum machines. Two RCA phono inputs (with a ground peg), complete with RIAA preamp to ensure the right levels, are included for vinyl junkies.

Features include:

  • Standalone MPC: no computer required
  • 10.1-in. high-resolution, adjustable, multi-touch display
  • Acts as a control surface for MPC 2.0 software
  • Phono, instrument, mic, and line inputs
