Caroline Guitar Company and Vintage King have teamed up for another limited run of guitar pedals. Setting our eyes this time on Caroline’s Kilobyte, this collaboration, the Caroline Guitar Compnay Kilobyte - VK Edition, gives a fresh facelift to the company’s essential digital delay pedal.
Packing the Kilobyte with a PT-2399 delay chip (a piece used in unwanted karaoke machines), this pedal gets delays that are covered in a layer of sonic lo-fi sludge. With delay times pushed to 500ms, this pedal has an uncompromising sound that will flail with breakneck oscillation at a moment’s notice.
Featuring a new paint job, exclusive to Vintage King, the Kilobyte – looks like it jumped off a vintage television screen and onto your pedalboard. Brown knobs and a khaki casing recall the earliest computers, while the knob graphics look like Frogger replacement characters. Packed with the same circuitry as the original Kilobyte, this pedal still features killer delay, but has an updated look for 1984.
