In honor of our Microphone Mission, a new effort to bring better mics to your recording studio, we've started assembling some incredible microphone packages filled with industry standards, personal favorites and more. BeyerDynamic makes incredible microphones, especially for drum recording, and we've brought together their best products to help you up your microphone game. In this bundle, you'll receive three BeyerDynamic M 201 TGs, a MC 930 stereo set, one M 88 TG, and one M 160 ribbon mic.
BeyerDynamic M 201 TG
Another microphone from the "workhorse stable," the BeyerDynamic M 201 TG preserves its place in history through sheer performance and reliability and we are proud that it has come to feature here with the classics. A truly sensitive dynamic microphone with a range of applications spanning instruments to vocals, being particularly effective when the microphone has to be placed at a distance from the sound source. It incorporates a "hum-buck" coil that rejects mains borne interference introduced when using the microphone close to video monitors or other mains powered devices.
BeyerDynamic MC 930
This true condenser microphone provides an enormous versatility due to its neutral sound and accurate design. The features of the BeyerDynamic MC 930 include the wide frequency response of 40 - 20,000 Hz and a signal-to-noise ratio of 71 dB.
The MC 930 is suitable for miking choirs, orchestras and solo instruments, due to the switchable pre-attenuation of 15 dB.. The switchable low-cut filter with 6 dB/Octave at 250 Hz compensates for proximity effects. With the WS 101 wind shield the MC 930 can be used for vocal applications.
BeyerDynamic M 88
The BeyerDynamic M 88 is a dynamic moving coil microphone with a hypercardioid polar pattern which is more tightly directional than that of any other mic in its class. Its frequency independent pickup pattern reduces feedback and off-axis coloration to an absolute minimum. The M 88s efficient moving coil design delivers high output over a wide range of working distances. Its wide frequency response and fast transient response enhance the 'presence' and articulation of voices or instruments, while accurately reproducing bass frequencies. The M 88s natural, well-balanced sound can only be described as "elegant", yet its rugged design virtually eliminates non-linear distortion at extreme SPLs. The integral humbucking coil reduces interference from stray magnetic fields by as much as 20 dB.
Beyer Dynamic M 160
A must have for the ribbon mic lover, the Beyer Dynamic M 160's unique hypercardioid pattern sets it apart from Coles and Royer microphones. Great on overheads, guitars, room mics or vocals when wanting superior background noise rejection. This was a favorite of Jimi Hendrix as a guitar mic.
The amazing drum sound on Led Zeppelin's "When The Levee Breaks" was achieved with just a pair of M 160's placed at the top of a tall staircase with the drums below.
The M 160 features a hypercardioid polar pattern with a noise attenuation of 25 dB at 110°, the M 160 is an outstanding microphone which is very effective for all types of remote and in-studio voice reproduction. In the recording studio, the M 160 is recommended for miking string instruments such as violins, violas, cellos and for pianos, saxophones as well as for hi-hat and toms. The non-glare black surface of the M 160 and its small dimensions allow the unobtrusive use in TV or film studios. In conjunction with the M 130 dynamic double ribbon microphone the M 160 is ideal for stereo recordings in MS technique.
